The Strategic Guidelines of the Center

Excellence in scientific, development and strategic studies and research to become a house of research and advisory expertise that contributes to the achievement of development and solving the problems of society.

The center seeks to disseminate knowledge and scientific research and enhance the university’s role in society development through seminars, training courses, publications and various scientific activities to achieve distinguished research and society services using modern means and technologies, a stimulating university environment, and a constructive partnership that serves the reality of contemporary society.

Strategic Objectives

  • 1-Promoting a culture of scientific research and providing society service, and developing academic, administrative and professional research capabilities.
  • 2-Providing consultancy, training and professional and scientific research programs.
  • 3-Providing research and studies for the renaissance and development of society and finding a solution to its problems.

Center's Tasks and Functions

  • 1-Conducting studies and research related to various political, social, economic and other issues.
  • 2-Providing training and advisory services to specialized institutions and individuals interested in studies and research in a manner that goes with the Centre's plans and programs.
  • 3-Conducting surveys on the main concerns issues; To know people's tendencies.
  • 4-Organizing conferences, symposia, seminars and consultative meetings within the limits of the centre's functions and competencies.
  • 5-Contributing to society awareness, education and development in its various issues.
  • 6-Strengthening the link between the Center and its counterparts both inside and outside Yemen for the purpose of exchanging and documenting experiences, and getting specialists and all those interested know about them through various publishing means.
  • 7-Working on developing an effective system for research information, and facilitating its flow in order to meet the requirements of scholars, researchers and those interested, and to raise the level of journals, publications and bulletins issued by the centre.
  • 8-Supervising (in coordination with the relevant authorities) the Governor's Award for the best scientific research that contributes to the advancement and development of society and finding solutions to its problems.
  • 9-Supervising the University Rector's Award for the best research or graduation project at the university.
  • 10-Any other tasks related to the nature of the centre's function in accordance with the laws, regulations and decisions in force or assigned to it by the University Rector.

Section One: Research and Authorship Department

The Research and Authorship Department is responsible for the following tasks:

  • 1-Preparing and implementing the department's plans and objectives.
  • 2-Conducting studies and research related to the needs of society.
  • 3-Organizing conferences, seminars and workshops related to various societal issues.
  • 4-Preparing the proposals of scientific research awards and following them up.
  • 5-Organizing discussion panels, consultative meetings, and the like.
  • 6-Preparing periodic reports on the department's activities and prospects for its development.
  • 7-Any other tasks and competencies assigned to the department.

 

Section Two: Training and Consultation Department

Training and Consultation Department is responsible for the following tasks:

  • 1-Preparing and implementing the department's plans and objectives.
  • 2-Determining the training needs of the target society.
  • 3-Determining the research training needs of the targeted academic and administrative staff.
  • 4-Organizing specialized, professional and research training courses programs
  • 5-Offering general advisory services
  • 6-Preparing periodic reports on the department's activities and prospects for its development.
  • 7-Any other tasks and competencies assigned to the department.

 

Section Three: Society Service Department

Society Service Department is responsible for the following tasks:

1- Preparing and implementing the department's plans and objectives.

2- Conducting surveys on public issues.

3- Providing continuing education services to the society.

4- Awareness-raising and education concerning society service.

5- Contributing to the development of society in many different issues.

6- Organizing events and activities in the field of society service.

7- Preparing periodic reports on the department's activities and prospects for its development.

8- Any other tasks and competencies assigned to the department.

 

Section Four: Population Studies Department (Women and Children)

Population Studies Department is responsible for the following tasks:

Preparing and implementing the department's plans and objectives..1-

2-Conducting studies and research on women issues.

Conducting studies and research on children issues..3-

Conducting studies and research on different population areas..4-

5-Preparing periodic reports on the activities of the department and the prospects for its development.

Any other tasks and competences assigned to the Department.

Section Five: Documentation and Publishing Department

Department of Documentation and Publishing is responsible for the following tasks:

Preparing and implementing the department's plans and objectives.-.1

2-Identifying and deciding documents that could be published.

Publishing research, studies and scientific events.-.3

Carrying out the documentation process for various activities and events.-.4

5-Organizing and classifying the types of documents in a way that make them accessible to researchers.

6-Issuing the periodicals of the magazine and electronic bulletins.

7-Strengthening the library's collectibles continuously in line with the Centre's requirements of various documents, in accordance with the center's objectives.

Building an information base and data on social issues..8-

9-Preparing periodic reports on the activities of the section and the prospects for its development.

10-Any other functions and competences assigned to the Section.

Basic Needs of the Center

In order to achieve the objectives, activities, tasks and competences, the Center needs a building with its all the equipment and requirements according to the proposed project as in the attached annexes.

Details of the proposal and the extent to which the society needs it

The proposal is to develop the Center for Studies and Research referred to above. It aims at providing the appropriate place for society service in several fields, preparing society studies and research, and carrying out, documenting, archiving and publishing about various events and activities.

The center is considered a fundamental requirement for the society, as it will contribute to providing academic research services which will benefit the society on specialized issues and services. That will lead to society service and rehabilitation which in turn will reduce its problems, treat them, and provide the necessary and appropriate needs in many different fields.

  • v The scope of service provided by the project:

Through this project, the University will provide society service, training and education in a more quality manner, which will reflect positively on the society at all levels and drives forward the development of society.

 

  • v Motivation for choosing this service:

The society urgently needs this service since it is not available in the nearby universities, and therefore it is difficult to access. In addition, the society needs services and consultations in several areas such as environment, desertification, energy and other educational and social fields.

  • v The expected impact of the service on the target groups:

We expect good society service that accommodates as many society members as possible, and more studies. We expect more researches and publications in the coming years that will positively affect the final output as well.

  • Opening such areas will contribute to managing the development wheel and changing the society's orientation from the path of bad habits and traditions (revenge, stimulant abuse, etc.) to the path of work and self-development which will lead to comprehensive society development.
